Our minor trickle of water when we ran the dishwasher turned into a major leak in the basement. So we did what anyone else would have done under these terrible conditions. We turned off the water and went to work.

While this is a terrible problem, I am grateful we started to really focus on our finances lately. We have about 6 months of living expenses saved - assuming only one of us loses our job, we eat spam, and cancel all services and activities. While it will greatly pain me to move money from that account to fix the plumbing, I am not stressed out about it. Hubs took a half day tomorrow and the plumber will be here between 2 and 4. We are hoping for a large crack in a plastic pipe. It's kind of a funny thing to hope for!
